In the rolling countryside north of Porto.
Northern Portugal has been a centre of textile manufacturing for centuries. This is where the knowledge, the suppliers and the craft needed to make really good shirts are found.
It is also where our shirts are made. We have worked with the same factory since Shirtonomy was founded in 2015. A factory specialised in shirts, where every garment goes through more than 30 steps before it is finished.
Being close to production means we can follow the work on site ourselves, from cutting and sewing to the final details and the quality check.

02 · The cloths
Woven by Europe’s finest mills.
A good cloth can be felt before you need to explain why. That is why we choose our cloths for feel, quality and how they actually perform when the shirt is worn and washed.
We work with some of Europe’s finest mills, among them Albini and Thomas Mason in Italy, Somelos in Portugal and Sidogras in Spain. From classic poplin and twill to oxford, linen, denim and heavier cotton qualities.
The selection changes with the seasons, but the requirements stay the same: cloths we want to wear ourselves, made to last.

03 · The hand
As much art as science.
A shirt is made of many parts and even more steps. From the first cut to the final press, every step takes precision.

- CuttingEvery made-to-measure shirt is cut from an individual pattern, based on your measurements and your fit.

- SewingMore than 30 steps turn the individual pieces into a finished shirt, with great care in the seams, collar and cuffs.

- DetailsCollar, cuffs and buttons are set in place. Small details where precision makes a big difference to the finished shirt.
- 04
- InspectionEvery shirt is checked, pressed and inspected before it leaves the factory in Portugal.

The atelier
Want to feel the cloths first?
At Skeppargatan 22 in Stockholm you will find our entire range of cloths. Book half an hour and we take your measurements and go through cloth, fit and details together.
